Sunny Side Up..

{be sure to check out Elva Fields new Spring collection. swoon.}

the weather report in Boston is looking grim for the next few days...I'm counting the days till Spring {although it doesn't truly warm up here until May} but at least we're heading in that direction! I find yellow so uplifting, I prefer to use hints of this color rather then swathe an entire room in the hue!
I've long admired the Darryl Carter room {image 1} pictured. I have a photo of the entire room someplace, if I find it, I'll post it. The yellow painting was actually the impetus for one I created in my own home. {will post soon}. That fabulous pop of yellow is the perfect backdrop for such a glamorous chandelier!

I cannot lie, I'm so loving little girl clothes right now..

  2. Yes, grim to say the least- I really hope the weather people are wrong again and that the sun comes out. I could totally use some sun this week.

  3. Love your images, I did a post a while back for my East coast friends on yellow called I need some sunshine. I agree about just a pop, whether in a room or in clothing. It does put a smile on your face,that is for sure. Hope you get some nicer weather soon. I also did a post on Flowers, bring some inside it really helps perk things up. Kathysue

  8. Hi Kelley,

    You can mix all those colors, but you need to choose two dominant ones and use the other two as accents. I actually just designed a room that was pink, yellow, chocolate and blue, where the pink and chocolate were the main colors. I introduced the yellow and blue sparingly.

    And those yellow curtains? To die for!
