Yesterday I was flipping through the June issue of Coastal Living when the nursery photo's of swimsuit designer Marysia Reeves baby's room stopped me in my tracks..I couldn't believe how many elements were similar to my son's room that I designed three years ago. You may have seen the shots of my little guy's room featured on La Dolce Vita - May 09'.
- zebra rug, the horizontal stripes, the lamb, the white canvas drapes, the crib design
Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not implying anything here, I just thought it was a strange coincidence..I guess great design minds sometimes think alike!
Here are some other photos of Marysia's "surfer chic" {one of my favorite styles} home!
I absolutely love the turquoise interior of these cabinets!
More beach friendly design moments from this month's Coastal Living!
And also a home designed by Sasha Emerson
LOVE designer Sasha Emerson's collection of Madeline Weinrib rugs! Swoon!

Hmmm.....I actually kinda do think she "borrowed" from you. The matching lamb is what puts it over the top. There's no way she matched the stripes, the crib, the zebra AND the rocking lamb. But as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
ReplyDeletegreat minds DO think alike! love it all to pieces!!!

Her home caught my eye too!! Love it!! Coastal, Country and Southern Living - all mags I normally never buy - have been impressing me lately!!
ReplyDeleteI think I like yours better! I love the turquoise in the cabinets and how awesome is that zebra covered coffee table?
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing similarities in the children's rooms, crazy! Her whole house is awesome! I especially love her living room with the 12 foot high built-ins! Also love the idea to have such a large house plant, it looks great with the high ceilings.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I absolutely ADORE your son's room! I have a similar striped feature wall in my apt! You can see it in this post:

The lamb IS weird. But, maybe she showed her designer a pic of your nursery as an inspiration pic and, there ya go.
ReplyDeleteI actually like yours better!
ReplyDeleteWow, so many elements are similar (or even identical!) that I must conclude that your pictures "inspired" this room. Nice catch!
ReplyDeleteSeriously SWOON! Love those nurseries. Love anything coastal really.
ReplyDeleteDEFINITELY similar, but both sooo cute. Yours IS definitely ONE of my inspirations If I have a baby :)

ReplyDeleteI am going to have to check out your nursery!! It sounds as if you inspired her, there are too many elements the same but either way it is a compliment, right?!! You have a great design sense so surely someone will want to emulate you!! Now I am checking it out,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteJust checked you room out and I think you were definitely the inspiration. too many similar elements, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Curious. Like your room better. The blue is fab.

Hopefully just an innocent coincidence! Both are lovely rooms for a little boy! The whole house is really lovely - I love those built in shelves behind the sofa!
ReplyDeletethe three bottom photos are actually of a different home that designer Sasha Emerson designed for a client.
