Love the look: Fall Picks

It's hard to believe Fall is right around the corner. In lieu of a beloved outfit today I'm posting my fall wish list picks with you!! I tend to layer my looks throughout the Fall and winter. Some of my best fashion pieces and investments have been vests. I'm slightly obsessed with them and style them with almost everything!

Here are the deets and links:

1. I need a new cable knit sweater. This one is actually a boys version but I'm hoping the largest size fits. It's cotton, so it won't be itchy!! I can't deal with itchy sweaters.
2.  This is Longchamp's latest bag. LOVE!
3. I adore this stackable heart ring. Ever since I got divorced and stopped wearing my rings (of course) I've wanted to treat myself to a pretty ring to wear on my right hand instead of my left. This little darling could work.
4. A Tory Burch staple and definite purchase for me this fall.
5. J. Crew Vest, nuff said. (liking this flamingo shade)
6. Leather is everywhere this Fall. This jacket is killer.......need it.
7. Time to switch out my hot pink toes for some moody neutral shades. Essie has great colors.
8. J. Crew over sized jewels never disappoint.
9. Vest #2.  This would work well with both casual and dressy looks.

Dining Al Fresco

I've got an exciting dining alfresco styling opportunity coming up! I can't wait to set up my outdoor dining space and relax with friends before the summer is over. I love the laid back California vibe of Nicole Richie's Hollywood Hills home. Little white cafe lights and sparklers? How fun!!

Summer lovin....

Wow, is it really almost September?
I'm not sure where August went or the past six years for that matter. It's crazy how fast the time goes when you start measuring the years by your child's age. My son begins kindergarten next week, it seem like yesterday I was celebrating his first birthday! (sniff, sniff)

I thought I'd share one last cottage styled beach house with you before August comes to an end. I'm loving the organic quality of this design, especially the fresh white walls and the colorful, bohemian feeling rugs!!

happenings....

I'm hopping on a plane in a bit for my ACE Hardware design expert position. We're brainstorming our 2014 color picks for the Clark+Kensington paint line!! Fun, fun!!

Here's a snapshot of what's going on in my world this week.....

I'm using these fabrics for pillows on a beautiful project. They'll be placed on a charcoal sofa. I'm liking the "off" colors.

My boyfriend and I took my kids to the "world famous" Marshfield Fair last week..good times!! I'm still a fan of the old school rides.....
I'm thinking I need to add a cornice to my window treatments in my bedroom design.
I'm purchasing a pair of these leopard beauties from Furbish Studio for my living room design.
My entire house is painted!! YAY. I went with the shade on the left in the living room and down the hallway!! It looks dramatic, I'm loving it! I can't wait to share some sneak peeks with you all!!

I'll be in meetings all day tomorrow so I won't have time to post!! Happy Weekend!! xx

1. Sienna's hair looks adorbs. I need to perfect this look!
2. I'd live in these Loeffler Randall designed boots.
3. Drooling over Aerin Lauder's lighting collection for Circa Lighting. This beauty would work well in my new living room design.
4. Yum, I might now love the thought of chilly weather but I do love to cook in the Fall.
5. I can't wait to move into my new abode...I'll be sure to host a house warming party inspired by this fabulous bubbly bar!

Love the look

I'm not sure where August has gone! It seems I blinked and it's already the 19th. We are entering a transitional season in Boston. I adore summer but love wearing little booties with my skinny pants! Here's an outfit that I'll absolutely wear this Fall. The sweatshirt will also come in grey (it's the color I'd mix with this look) and will be available on Wednesday through J.Crew! That Marcie bag is on the top of my list as are these Rag and Bone booties. I own the J.Crew pixie pant. I would highly recommend them. They're flattering and the perfect Fall staple.

Between work and trying to move into my new home (eek!!) I hope to sneak in a few more beach days this Summer! xx

I've been seeing leather sweats all over the place as a hot trend for fall. So my question is, what are your thoughts?? Yay or Nay!!

Shelter Loves

I just realized this post is looking pretty girlie!! I love the way blogs capture what is on the author's mind in the given moment they are creating a post. I spent last night brainstorming about the design for my daughter's room. Her walls, per her request, are pale pink and I've decided to keep her closet doors off. I think I may paper the back wall in a bunny print, and add two racks for hanging and shelves for her pretty goody bins.

1. I'm loving this long, over sized pendant necklace. It's a little hint as to where my head is right now!! via
2. I adore this take on a Dorothy Draper style dresser, available here
3. Adorable closet set-ups
4. I see me living in these Tory Burch ballet flats this Fall.
5. I pinned this Mary McDonald designed light fixture from Lumen's this week.
6. My dream is to visit the Amalfi coast next year. Positano, Italy is at the top of my list and staying at Il San Pietro hotel seems like a must!

Thoughts on home

My move in date is drawing closer!! Eek.
I'm placing my tile orders today and took advantage of the tax free holiday purchases in Massachusetts this weekend.

KITCHEN:

Here are my thoughts: I'm going with a 12 x 24" slate kitchen floor. I originally wanted to use a slightly smaller tile and lay it out in a herringbone pattern (like the Thomas Smythe kitchen below) but thought I may go with a herringbone back splash instead.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to use a white backsplash tile but update the design a bit with a classic herringbone  layout.

BATHROOMS:

The house only has a bath and a half. I've chosen a black hexagon tlle and white subway tiles for the walls in the full bath. I'm papering the main bath in Thibaut's : Tanzania and the half bath with Rose Cummings: Zebrine in blue and white. (I've used the for a client in the past but have always wanted it in my own home.) I'm going to with a mini high gloss hexagon tile in the 1/2 bath.

I bought this carrara top vanity at Lowes in this weekend and am using a faucet similar to these Kohler versions below. I'll also change out the hardware.

I'm finishing off the full bath with a monogrammed shower curtain. Here are two options (top) and (bottom)

Zebrine in navy

 Cheers to a great week!

Love the look

Summer comes to a screeching halt around here! That's why I'm going to fully enjoy the next three weeks of it (the best I can anyway!) It's going to be a gorgeous weekend, so I'll be sure to wear my summery staples! It's also not a bad time to shop all the summer sales for classic finds you can wear next year. ( some of the items above are on sale!!)

Shelter Loves

Happy Tuesday! Here's what I'm thinking and pinning this week!

1. I love over sized, pretty earrings - just like these!
2. I think I want to wallpaper my bathroom. I can't spend a crazy amount of money on it. I'm considering Thibaut's, Tanzania.
3. + 4. I'm sinking most of my money into my new house but If I buy anything this Fall it's going to be a leather motorcycle jacket. This feminine version is cute.
5. Words to live by, I swear it helps your mindset!!

Hunt Slonem

I'm constantly drawn to artwork and photography. I'm really looking forward to hanging my array of art in my new home. I've down sized for obvious reasons so I don't have as many walls. A gallery style wall is a must as is hanging pieces in unique ways individually.

Today I came across the work of Hunt Slonem. I was instantly drawn to his wild life, bird and floral paintings. They're over sized and often feature a repetitive theme. They would make a statement in any home! He's quite the talent and sounds like a character, just check out the link to his 15,000 sq. foot NYC home on his website.

Hunt: "I would say my whole life could be summed up by the word ‘exotica'."

ooooohh la la!

Aerin Lauder

I love entertaining and dream of hosting a party one day with an evening of good food, music and a long beautifully decorated table much like these!! Feast your eyes on my recent favorites!
Can Aerin Lauder do anything wrong design wise lately? I think NOT! I'm excited to pre order her new book. The inspiration for my new home is sort of going to be a cross of New England classic with laid back Cali cool. Yikes, painting is almost done. I'll share some quick pics of the colors next week!
