Love the look - fashion find

I'm been very into pinning Summery dresses lately...I'm sure the reason is because it's been 20 frigid degrees here for as long as I can remember!!! This pretty frock is not only budget friendly but it embraces the aztec trend I'm loving so much right now. Purchase it here on sale!! I have light hair and skin so I'm not so sure the white will look as nice with my coloring. It looks stunning on Alexandra with her pretty dark hair and bronzed skin. (I'll give it a shot though) Images via

Traditional Home with a twist!

Hello all! I just arrived home from my very successful business trip to Houston. My collaboration with ACE Hardware is going so well. I have a number of exciting developments to share in the months to come, including the peeks of my holiday vingnette for their Spring Trade show. In the meantime I wanted to share the photos of a home I designed for a great young family in a suburb just west of Boston!! I designed a number of the furniture pieces including the living room ottoman, foyer settee, living room sofas, and the family room ottoman. Hope you enjoy it!

You can also see more details on Style Me Pretty's home tour!

Love the look...

Happy Friday! I'm off to Houston tomorrow for an Ace Hardware trade show. I'm setting up and sharing a holiday vignette I designed...There is lots going on with Ace's Clark+Kensington paint line this Spring! I can't wait to share the exciting details and some peeks of my holiday display.

I'm going to be dressing business casual while I'm there..Here's a peek inside my suitcase. I never travel without a classic fitted blazer, jeans, great heels and a clutch! Have a great weekend! xx

Shelter Loves...

Wow, the sun is finally shining here in Boston. It's amazing what a little vitamin D can do for the soul! Here's what I'm adoring this week.......

1. J.Crew baubles! Out with anything winter, I'm ready for Springy looks!
2. I've always wanted a built in banquette. They work well at saving space. Who wants to be the one stuck in the inside corner seat anyway?
3. How cute are these espadrille wedges?
4. Loving this painterly Pierre Frey fabric.
5. Great advice!
6. I'm liking the off the shoulder maxi look. Here is a cute version! I may need to purchase this summer staple before it sells out. (I like the price tag too)
7. Okay, this dress is adorable....so are all the children's clothing on Minikin for that matter.

Thoughts on home - tiny bathroom!

I wanted to give you an update on my house. The kitchen is still in the works but the drawers are almost done. I have also ordered the lighting that I shared with you and I'm testing out the hardware selection. (It is always a good idea to order one piece of hardware and test out the scale and quality before committing to an entire order).

The tile has been installed in the tiny half bath off of my bedroom. I chose a well priced porcelain. I've also shared a couple of pictures of the tired, old space! It had not been updated since the house was built in 1972 - eek. We ripped out the toilet and the sink. I originally thought that I was going to paper this space in Rose Cumming's : Zebrine but I've decided to hold off on the paper. I need to scale back on my expenses and can always add wallpaper at a later date if I'd like!! The next step is to clean up the bathroom, replace the old baseboard, paint the walls and add the items pictured above!
I purchased the simple sink, faucet and toilet. I hope to paint the bathroom next week. I'm going with either pink or navy. I'm leaning towards the pink. Although, I love navy walls I think the pink will feel fresher and more flattering. I'm sure I'll be primping in this space. ;)

Above are my two design boards and below are the pictures of the space now - UGH!

the new tile

1. I think I may go with this simple sconce. I'm leaving the existing wiring so it needs to be installed above the mirror.
2. Monogrammed towels add a personal touch
3. I've purchased a similar faucet to this classic Kohler one.
4. Small bathrooms and powder rooms look great when you add a one of a kind or unexpected mirror similar to this bamboo one. via Horchow (it's 30% off today!)
5. Inexpensive pedestal sink via Lowes. (again I need to save $ someplace)
6. I'm adding a colorful piece of art onto the empty wall across from the doorway.

The color chosen will be from Clark+Kensington's new color line! I'll share the color name when I make the final choice!

Dreaming...

of warmer days and beautiful weather. We're having another snow day here in Boston. I'm finishing up a house update post for you right now on my "teeny tiny" bathroom.... but I came across this amazing house via Kelly Wearstler on FB so I thought I'd share it with you in the meantime.
Kelly designed the interior but I'll take the exterior, pool and all!  Thank you! (this house would look amazing in all white too)

Happy Valentine's Day...

Hell, whether you have a lover or not, today is the perfect date to celebrate the beauty of pink! This sweet opportunity couldn't have come at a better time....we could all use a little prettiness during the blah days of winter!!

So cheers to you and you!!! Sit back, pour yourself a glass of pink champagne and add a little pink to your world! xoxoxo

Cottage Love # 11 - Boho Style

I thought I would share a little pick me up on this wintry day. Most of the East coast is receiving snow and/or rain today. Boo...A little color goes a long way in cheering me up.

I'm digging the Bohemian vibe of Whitney's home (and her fabulous locks and wardrobe). She and her fiance blended their goods and created a place with a layered, lived in look!

I ADORE this wallpaper. I think I need to sneak it into my home. In any case I grabbed a sample of it for a client too!!!

Shelter Loves....

This week I'm loving aztec inspired patterns and citrus hues! Here's the background on this week's thoughts and finds:

1. One beautiful bauble is all you need to finish off an outfit.
2. Pretty in pink.  This bedroom is sweet and simple..I've been working on my daughter's room. It's pale pink, purple and cream. (with a few other shades mixed in)
3. I'd LOVE to make these. I'm sure they're much yummier than the Hostess version....
4. I'll take this entire outfit. I love mixing unexpected pieces.
5. YES!
6. I never tire of chinoiserie inspired prints. This lamp is adorable.
7. I'm seeing Aztec inspired prints everywhere for Spring and Summer.

Love the look....

In celebration of NY Fashion Week I thought I'd start off my Monday with a fashion post. It's still frigid here in Boston. So as much as I'd love to be wearing springy brights and pretty ballet flats it just wouldn't be practical.
We are surrounded by snow, so warm boots and cozy jackets are in order! My boyfriend and I are trying to plan an extended warm get away for the beginning of April. My fingers are crossed it all works out. I've had a cold for what seems like months now. I could use a little extra vitamin D....

Olivia always looks so incredibly chic and the outfit on the left is something I'd love to wear while running around NYC. (I'm headed there for an exciting work trip in March)

The good thing about shopping for winter clothing in February is that most items are on sale right now! (some of my picks are on sale - including those killer Prada boots!!)

* If it seems a bit much to splurge on leather pants, I always buy the faux ones at ZARA. They're great and the best knockoff I've seen.

The Sweet Life...

Ahhh, got to love Fridays. I thought I'd share one of my long time favorite designer's  vacation home. Ruthie Sommers always delights with her off-beat, but chicly designed spaces. This California "bungalow" blends new and vintage elements beautifully. It makes me want to pack up my bags and head north for the weekend.

I apologize for the light posts this week. I've been having a computer issue. I made the mistake of downloading the most recent MAC software. It somehow wiped out my design programs (photoshop and indesign). Off to the Genius Bar I go....Grrrrrr

Happy Weekend!
