The White House

I know most people are thinking of warm colors associated with Fall right now but lately I've been drawn to the simplicity and elegance of a mostly white house exterior. I think an almost/all white palette allows the surronding lanscape and architectural details to take on a life of their own!

    i LOVE white houses - my house is white :o) ... friend of mine lives in a GORGOUS huge "white house" - her son started school - the teacher asked "where do you live" - his response "in the white house" .. :o)

    I have a thing for white interiors and exteriors. I wear beige too. I try so hard to incorporate color but it is such a struggle!

    We used to live around the corner from a huge old clapboard house. White with black shutters and a red door with this lovely big porch.
    The doctor and his wife who lived there had 6 children and I always imagine that a house like that, should have lots of children inside :)
    Now, I only have a dog ( the children visit) .. but I would still be happy in a big white house.

    Julie there is something about white houses! They have a feeling of invitation into what is beyond the front door.

    I totally agree on an all white house exterior. It is all about lines and shadows to show off the details. Great examples in this post.
    I am going to use your coverage to convince a client that this is the way to go on her exterior paint color we are discussing right now!
