contrasted neutrals for the modernist + traditionalist

A neutral color palette can soar when layered with touches of color, lots of textures and interesting objects. I recently came across two homes in Architectual Digest, each individual and quite contrasted in style. The first, a modern home located in the hills of California by designer Emily Summers, the second is Suzanne Kasler's classic regency style home and property in Atlanta, Georgia. I am loving the quality of light and sculptural feel of the furniture in each of these homes. The landscaping, though very different, also beautifully and cohesively compliments the interiors (and vice versa).
This is an amazing little powder room.
The outdoor space is a beautiful extension of the indoors. I would live in this room!
I adore this yellow sofa and the dining light fixture!

I never tire of classic white kitchens!
Gorgeous!

The outdoor spaces and patio are STUNNING on the property of Suzanne Kasler's home!!
