Cottage Love #9

Not much makes this girl happier than the warm weather!! After a loooooong winter, it's finally getting nice in Boston. Beach cottage season is on the way and though I don't own a summer home, I thoroughly enjoy the benefits of living in a town on the water.
I was reading Coastal Living over the weekend and came across the beautiful Amagansett, N.Y. cottage of Christiane Lemieux. She and her husband run  DwellStudio, the popular textile and furniture company.  I adore the ease and simplicity of this sweet home. When you live on the water, fussiness just doesn't make sense!

I apologize for the quality of this image, this is about the best I could do!

Beach Bungalow

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I'm having trouble focusing on work today. It's especially difficult after spending the weekend on the water south of Boston. It's amazing what a beautiful view and the smell of salt air can do for the soul. This is my favorite time of year. I can only dream of having a little bungalow on the water someday. I don't need a big house,  just one near the ocean. I love this fresh, crisp bungalow featured in Architectural Digest. The white walls, sculptural furniture choices and limited color palette are beautiful, notice all the amazing rug choices! I love each and every one! Happy Summer!! Happy Tuesday! Good luck getting back to work.

Inspired = Lyford Cay Club - Bahamas

I'm smitten with Tom Scheerer's design for the Lyford Cay Club. It delivers so many wonderful elements; pagoda designs, grass cloth, faux bamboo, corals, pink, yellow and chocolate, antique mirrors. etc. etc. Most of Tom's designs use these materials. His work is amazing.
I'm not sure I'll ever make  it past the pink entry gates, but a girl can dream right? A little beach shack in the Bahamas would do. {see Tom's home here - I am in love with this casual beauty}
How amazing is this tented dining area?

And the Lyford Cay inspired Pagoda print by Quadrille {of course}

Double Take..

Yesterday I was flipping through the June issue of Coastal Living when the nursery photo's of swimsuit designer Marysia Reeves baby's room stopped me in my tracks..I couldn't believe how many elements were similar to my son's room that I designed three years ago. You may have seen the shots of my little guy's room featured on La Dolce Vita - May 09'.

- zebra rug, the horizontal stripes, the lamb, the white canvas drapes, the crib design

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not implying anything here, I just thought it was a strange coincidence..I guess great design minds sometimes think alike!

Here are some other photos of Marysia's "surfer chic" {one of my favorite styles} home!

I absolutely love the turquoise interior of these cabinets!

More beach friendly design moments from this month's Coastal Living!

And also a home designed by Sasha Emerson

LOVE designer Sasha Emerson's collection of Madeline Weinrib rugs! Swoon!

Tis' the season...........

Summer is hands-down my favorite time of year in New England! I'll take a day at the beach with sandals over a day in a snow-suit anytime! Cheers to summer - so glad you're here!

My wardrobe will feel something along the lines of these sandals and this Kurta this summer..throw in a pair of cut off jean shorts and I'll be good to go with my kids..I'd dress it up a bit for work!

OKAY - Yes Please to the bracelet!

Sweet dining set..

My sister and I always talk about how great it would be to have a pool someday..This would do!
