Inspired - Home of the week, Minnie Mortimer

I can't help but save "inspiring" images for my future cottage by the sea. I'm getting ready for a change, so my head is spinning with fresh ideas. These recent photos from a Vogue article on fashion designer Minnie Mortimer's Malibu home stopped me in my tracks. I mean WOW, this home spoke to me. I love that she channels a West Coast meets East Coast vibe. Her home is unpredictable and welcoming but in a fabulously chic way. I'm personally drawn to a casually, glamorous way of living myself. It not only suits my tastes but also my evolving lifestyle. This quote sorts of sums her style up perfectly: My last question can’t flummox Mortimer, either. “Are you a T-shirt girl or an evening-gown girl?” I inquire. “Both!” she hollers. “I cover a lot of ground in my life. Besides, there’s nothing I love more than a costume change." I couldn't agree more! (and can only dream of wearing evening gowns)

How wonderful are the walls of books in her home?

I have a thing for pom-poms and matte gold. The two together? adorable..How cute are these party shoes from Boden? {and they're not off the charts expensive}.

Down "with it"

Whether your down with Kelly's style or not {I personally think she's one step ahead of everyone, her avant garde way of thinking can be bit contagious} I think her rug selections {older and newer} are always PERFECT! Seriously, I can't find one I don't like..............

here is a peek from Paloma's post, some of my favorite things:
Fabric: Quadrille's Alan Campbell and China Seas line. I also find Lulu Dk very inspiring, her collages and art work are genius!

Favorite Food : French Bistro - Bistro Cooking at home is one of my all time favorite cook books, every recipe I have ever made is AMAZING!

One {among a few} Fashion Icons - Grace Kelly. I am loving the 50's-60's inspired clothing this Fall. Add a bit of an edge to the outfit and you're all set!

Classic Whites

I adore the simplicity of a classic white shirt, paired with like color shorts, skirts or jeans, it's really all you need! {her hair is adorable too - I may have to bring this photo to my next hair appointment}

You know a look works,{especially on J.O.} when a photo from the 60's is still fabulous!

Add a "have to, have it" kind of summer bag like this Tory Burch version pictured above + you've completed the look - classic + chic!
Have a great weekend - Stay Cool!

Loving..

Turned wooden lamps - in a causally chic kind of way..

This lamp is named Colby {my son's name} - It was a possibility for my living room, the name might of sealed the deal, plus it will work well on the credenza I am designing for the television. Arteriors Home.
