Dental Chic

I've been loving soft feminine color palettes mixed with rich grey lately. Summer Thornton never disappoints with her unpredictable color palettes and talent for beautifully combining furniture, objects and finishes. Here is a dental office she designed. I suppose if you need a crown you may as well feel like a queen while getting it. What I love most is every element would translate well in a home. Now, I am curious what they charge for a cleaning???  See more images and Summer's gorgeous work here.

Shelter Loves...

Hola, I'm keeping things short and sweet around here today! I snuck in a "chill" yoga class with my friend Tammi this am! I need to do that more often. I'm feeling relaxed and colorful today. Here is what is on my radar this week. Happy Friyay!

1. It's sweater and fair isle season. I would wear this Boden version in a smaller size with skinny jeans and great flat boots.
2. I was sorry to miss Eddie's book signing last night at Hudson. I had a birthday dinner so I could not make it!
3. Ahhh, yes! Or at least throw the room off with something unexpected!
4. I wear glasses to drive. In fact my night vision seems to be getting worse. eek. I need a new pair of glasses and am going to try the free at home trial with Warby Parker. The prices are right and I would rather not feel rushed at a store. I am kinda liking the Baxter and the Jennings. Heavy glasses over power my face, these feel a bit lighter.
5. + 6. Okay so I am slightly obsessed with team Gen + Ben's style. Their colorful and graphic designs really resonate with me. Check out the duo's amazingly creative firm here and their home feature on One King's Lane here. ONE WORD: GAH!!

Design Crush - Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad = actress, fashion designer and blogger's home was featured in InStyle magazine a while back. I love the carefree mix of color, texture and vintage finds. And THAT BAR??? To die for! I am in the process of styling my own bar area, don't think vintage glassware with gilded details won't be part of the mix. Lauren is best known for her role in the show, The Hills (2006-2010). She also pens a blog full of beauty, fashion and decor tips. Lauren designs a very chic fashion line, Paper-Crown as well. She's a busy girl....

Cottage Love #17

Ever since I came across Chloe Warner's work about 6-7 years ago I have been a fan. She worked with Kelly Wearstler (another risk taker) before striking out on her own. I think the reason why I enjoy her designs so much is that they aren't overly formulaic looking. Chloe's spaces flow seamlessly and look as if they have evolved over time.

These images are of her own home she shares with her husband and two children.

Cottage (feel) Love #10

I had a moment to flip through the digital version of Trad Home's Spring edition this am. I love color, especially a mix of blues and greens. These shades are fresh, vibrant and livable. I'm a firm believer in taking some risks with your home decor. This way you're sure to be moved by the end result of the design! I was instantly drawn to Tamara Kaye-Honey's design of a California home......I had to share these inspiring images.

Inspired - Marathoners + Aerin Lauder

First off I want to wish a huge good luck to all those running the marathon today. It takes  great skill, ambition and determination to accomplish such a feat!! You are an inspiration.

Secondly, it's finally warming up in Boston!! I'm working a half day today because I'm going to spend the other half with my children. It is school vacation week in Massachusetts.
I've been giving a lot of thought to my yard and sunporch. I've got my computer set up out here today. Enjoying a room with windows on three sides is uplifting, I think I get more accomplished when my work space is filled with natural light and fresh air. I'd love to eventually do this room over.

I've always been inspired by Aerin's style. Although, everything she does is on a much grander scale than I can afford, I still turn to her beautiful properties for inspiration.

Today I wanted to share her pool house and gorgeous backyard. Matty and I dream of having a pool one day! I love the idea of french doors opening out to a beautifully maintained property. (idea #1 for my sun porch redo someday) I have shared indoor and outdoor perspectives.....
