Room of the week!

I guess I should re-phrase that to "moment" of the week. I love this dressing table and can only dream of having the time to sit and powder my nose and get ready someday. I'm usually lucky to throw an outfit together while watching my little one tear through my shoes. ;)

Room of the week - Refresh

It's been a busy week, and as you can see my blog design is still in the works! It should be wrapped up soon. Boston is still very grey, I'm anxiously awaiting for some sign of Spring. I love the simple palette of green and white used in this room. It's so clean and fresh. I think I would sleep very peacefully here, don't you?

Craving Color

With Spring just around the corner I'm craving a bit more color in my life! I'm ready to tuck away some of the charcoal and black in my closet in lieu of pink, yellow and crisp white! The wall color on the image above is gorgeous. I just recommended a similar shade for the interior door in my sister's bathroom. The color I suggested was Warm Springs:  by Benjamin Moore. I've used it before in a client's home office. It's gorgeous and instantly cheers up any space.

These wallet clutches are perfect for the lady on go. Ladybird fashion will also add your monogram at no charge. This may be a future purchase in my life.

I'm loving the shift dresses shown this season!! The lines and proportions on this Michael Kors version are perfect. 


side note: I had a designer working on my blog header. I was so excited and have been waiting for MONTHS to have it finished up. I may need to switch gears and have someone else finish and launch my design... This is beyond frustrating as I've already paid for the job!!! Ugh.
Hopefully I'll have something new and colorful soon....

Surely Chic, {room of the week}

Celerie Kemble certainly didn't hold back when designing the model apartment for N.Y.'s upper east side Manhattan House. I especially love the dramatic foyer and living area! These rooms aren't for the faint of heart but they do prove you really can't go wrong with black, taupe, gray and white..{she throws a hint of coral in to break things up, well done Celerie - adoring your work lately!}

Picture Perfect - Room(s) of the week!

I don't tend you use my blog as a personal sounding board but if you're a fellow blogger you may agree that blogging does provide a "sort of" therapeutic escape. This has been one of the worst weeks of my entire life. It's amazing how some things in life are truly out of our control. It was supposed to be a happy week, my birthday is today, but the last thing I am going to do is celebrate. This "picture perfect" post is a short "virtual home tour", instead of one room.  I needed to post these warm, comforting images today.

 I truly want this blog to be a place that you all come for inspiration. I hope you enjoy my selected images and thank you for being so great. I always appreciate your comments. This blog wouldn't exist without YOU! So do bear with me if my posts are a little lean over the next few weeks. xx.

Picture Perfect - Room{s} of the week

I just began a new project for an existing client. They live in a large old house. I'm excited to move the job downstairs to the living room and foyer.  The upstairs bedrooms are almost {key word being almost}  finished. Their style is what I refer to as "updated traditional".  I am going to finish up their concept board this week but I've already shopped the design center for most of the fabrics. I've been drawn to traditional interiors with a modern edge lately. I think they feel lived in, as though they have evolved over time but still fresh. The two rooms above by Ashley Whittaker fall perfectly into this style. I love the mix of pattern, texture, color and objects in these adjoining rooms.  They each have an identity of their own but work so well together. Creating a cohesive whole,  is the key to "great" design!

Picture Perfect - Room of the Week

I'm drawn to this room right now for so many reasons. The warm colors, the mix of materials, the array of perfectly placed furnishings, the billy baldwin slipper chair {a personal favorite}. It's layered, warm and beautiful! I love it. I would add this wonderful painting by Vanessa Briggs to the opposite side of the room. The open space above the sofa is needed!

I love the simple elegance of this dining room..the mix of brown and gold is so earthy! and that sconce? AMAZING! Maybe I am ready for Fall and all the nesting that comes with it!

Picture Perfect - Room of the week

Often all white rooms can feel flat, the key is to vary the shades of white and texture in the space! Mary McDonald has done so beautifully with this bedroom...the gorgeous canopy bed is fit for a queen! I am anxiously awaiting the release of Mary's new book, The Allure of Style. It's set to release on October 5th! A couple of weeks before my Birthday, so this one's officially on the "wish list"

Wow! This is more like a corner of a room (or maybe foyer) but I love it! In a perfect world, the floors would be toned down a bit but I love the sweet table vignette, the grid of moody art work and that gorgeous console!

Oh how I would love a cabana and pool like this Ruthie Sommer's design right now.It's hot here, crazy hot really, so this is going to be a quick post. I reside in an old house, most houses in the North-East don't have a.c., and mine happens to be one of them {well one window unit upstairs - but that's it} so it's unbearable to sit in front of my computer right now..Have a great day - keep cool!

Okay, so here is my "room of the week". I've been running around lately without much sleep, so I'm feeling pretty spent right now....Isn't this bed heaven? There is something to be said for crisp white bedding, you just can't go wrong with it! I think I may have to crawl into bed with a book right now! Good Night - Sleep Tight!

Would LOVE to create an "outdoor" room like this one by designer Mary McGee at my home. It feels so welcoming, and flexible. I've been really inspired by porches since my client presentation last week. Everything was a go, so I'll of course share the "after" photos!

I love everything about this room! It's the perfect example of the classically modern style I love and work with everyday! That screen is killer. My parent's actually have an old screen I need to get my hands on..with a little paint and fabric it could be the perfect backdrop for my bed! {i'll keep you posted}
