working away...

Been busy working with clients this week, I definitely want to organize my desk with a couple of fun trays! I think I have settled on the spotted and gold version above available through Furbish Studio. Love it and love LuLu Powers creative desk space - I adore her pagoda lamps with the pink shades, photographs and grasscloth ceiling!

Klismos Chair - two ways..

Why my post is so late today..Yes, that is my car buried under about 36" of snow in the left hand corner. I had to go to a client's house this morning so I was shoveling like a maniac to get out. I'm back in my office cozy and ready to post.

The Klismos chair known for its four gracefully splayed legs and curved back was created in 4th B.C. by the Greeks. It was most often used by women taking care of their babies.
The design then resurfaced during the French Directoire period{1795-99}, English Regency {roughly 1811-1820} and American Empire styles {roughly 1810-1825}

one piece, new finds..

Does anyone else get the urge to shop during the dead of winter? I always want to refresh my life, home and wardrobe this time of year. Maybe it's because I'm not outside running around like during the warm months, although skiing is on my "to do" list this year. I think it's time to bring my three year old.  The retail companies must know everyone is on the prowl {maybe not spending after the holiday bills arrive} but definitely looking because the catalogs are pouring in. Here is a round up of some of my favorite new finds!!

1. Shelf - Pottery Barn 2.  Chaine d'Ancre Bracelet from Hermes at a mere $9700, I think I'll be holding off on this one! {seriously imagine adding that to your cart??} who can do that ? someone I guess 3. Bone Mirror from Ballard Design 4. Venus Fly Trap Necklace from J.Crew 5. The Eddie Ballet flat from Tory Burch {look comfy}

Welcome!

Birthday Party!

Wow, where does the time go? My little girl is turning one next week, so I'm hosting a small family birthday party for her! Above is my snowflake inspired board and her party invitation! The party colors are pink and red and the main theme is snowflakes! I'm hoping to make snowflake cookies similar to the pretty ones above. {that's if i can squeeze an extra couple hours into next week}

Inspired, Caldwell-Flake

I'm busy, busy, busy today with my business and life, so instead of typing too much I'll just leave you with a bit of colorful eye candy by the Southern mother daughter interior design team Caldwell-Flake. I like their crisp, colorful, slightly whimsical style! Happy Monday!

Update: Still pulling together my daughter's room - will share some shots asap!

Refresh

Pink seems to be the trending color right now {which I adore} but I also love the marine blue and white that's so hot in fashion. It's cool and refreshing, but in a non-icy sort of way. It's bitter cold in Boston, so I've got that covered!

two choices for the neo-traditionalist

I'm starting the new year off right!! I'm so lucky to be working with some fabulous clients! I came across these "updated" crystal chandeliers on one of my "product hunts".  I love them both, but I think I would personally choose number two. It's a bit more romantic, suits my current feminine tastes right now...{see earlier posts, pink, ruffles, champagne, i think you get the idea!} {may propose number one}

I'm certainly ready to roll out some fresh new designs this year but my design magazines haven't been inspiring me much lately.  One trend that I am still holding on to is stripes! I especially love them when they are layered! I must own five striped shirts, I mix them with everything! {I also HAVE to use that pinstriped closet door idea above -  maybe if I move, I'm thinking girlie boudoir??}

Happenings...

I am so tired of even thinking about last year!! {if you are a regular to my blog I'm sure you picked up on the clues that my life was a bit of a disaster the past three months}. I didn't have a chance to do much for myself, blog, home!! I was focused on my personal life, my babies and my business!! Don't get me wrong, I love my business and blogging but this January I am going to focus on refreshing things on the home front a bit!!! Not too much because my ultimate goal is to MOVE to a bungalow {or something with that feel} with my children this year, but I need to at least finish my little girl's room....!! {I am going to paint it tomorrow!} I thought this room above was sweet and reminded me of the direction I am heading with the deer and bunny inspiration. I am also loving feminine details and pink right now.   Pink is definitely the new neutral this year!!!

{I'm also finished with commenting on last year, I am all about looking ahead right now!! ;)}
also: look for changes and a new image for my blog very soon!!
