Ahhhhh.
If you're searching for a relaxing seaside retreat or a personal wedding locale, then I've got the spot for you. I attended a beautiful, intimate wedding on the beach at Blue - the inn on the beach on Plum Island this past weekend. Plum Island is located off of Newburyport, Ma. {another fun destination if you're in need of a day trip}. All of the guests kicked off their shoes and walked through the sand to the ceremony site. It was wonderful!
The repeated color scheme used throughout the inn was pure white and royal blue. Very tranquil. They also have a number of quaint white beach cottages on the property. I'll be returning to rent one of those for an evening or two in the near future. Visit their website for more details!

Where I'd like to..
There are a number of reasons I am drawn to this space. I always asses the quality of light in a room. This clean, mostly white shell bounces the natural light around this multi-functional living space beautifully. The limited color palette and varied use of materials allows the room to feel fresh and calming! The open black chairs add just the right amount of contrast needed; while the lucite and lacquer introduce a hint of glamour and shine! I feel relaxed looking at this space, the ocean view beyond obviously helps.

The two pictured here are available through Circa Lighting
I still love the look of lanterns used indoors and out! There are an array of new, custom and old versions available!

I loved the set design of this kitchen in the movie "The Holiday". The lanterns punctuate the space beautifully.

Friday Finds...What I'm loving this week.
This amazing little bar spotted via one of my favorite blogs, Coco and Kelly. It's available through
Maison Luxe!
I love the idea of hanging an oversized bookrack in a play or bedroom. This particular one is wood with a plexi-front.
If you're not thrilled with the natural look, the paint color options are endless. I've always loved children's book illustrations. I may have a custom version of this made for my little guy.
This one is available through Whitney Brothers. I could use one of these in my office for magazine and design book storage! {now that's a thought - I would def. have it lacquered.}
Available through Three Potato Four.
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Just wanted to share...
I've long been an admirer of fashion photographer Richard Avedon's work. His images clearly capture more than fashion and cover a 60 year span. If you live in or are passing through the wonderful city of New York, be sure to check out the International Center of Photography's extensive exhibit. It runs through September 6th.

While we're on the topic of fashion and because I LOVE surprises, I had to share Kate Spade's fabulous new black trench. This beauty is a splurge but one you will have for years to come! {crazy how I justify purchases isn't it?}
How sweet? but so stylish.

Not TOO Shabby..
I love the look of clean, crisp, white, tailored slipcovers. They are fresh, inviting and believe it or not practical. {a little bleach goes a long way}. Not a sloppy cover in the bunch!
Love Anna Spiro's pink stool covers.
