My pregnancy nesting continues..I've been working on a slew of projects around my house. I'm sort of doing bits in a number of areas but I really want to FINISH everything. {i have three month's left..eek}. So here's this weekend's project {mind you I have to do most of this during my son's nap time. Baby sitter time is used for my business and teaching}.
WHICH COLOR DO YOU LIKE?
I am painting the above piece this weekend. It's either going to be black or turquoise. If I go with black - I own a turquoise lamp to use with it. If I go with turquoise, I'm not sure what I'm going to do..there is a lamp I like from Anthropologie . I'm definitely using one of these pulls from Muffs Hardware , they are larger and more interesting then the current hardware.
Here's a little peek at my dining room. I still need to finish a number of things before I post the entire room. {i also need my photographer to take the photos with the proper lighting - sorry about the blurry image} Aren't those lamps great? I found them at Home Goods..

When I saw the piece, I immediately thought, I would love that in black especially if it looks lacquered!!
But I tend to stay on the safer side of decorating, turquoise might be awesome too. I would be worried I couldn't get it the right shade of turquoise.
Hope this helps...
This is a hard choice. But go with black since you have the lamps. I also want to shoot out a huge thank you for the Muff's hardware link. I love it. So many projects could be pulled together with all that great hardware. Have a great weekend and good luck with your project.
I am leaning towards black because I may do some great artwork etc. in the hall. {plus I own the turquoise lamp already - one last thing to worry about}
You cannot go wrong with black, but I think i am drawn to the turquoise!
I love the pulls and I love the SNEAK PEEK of your dining room! Cannot wait to see mroe!

I'm currently loving turquoise and gold (the hardware) so that color combo gets my vote! High gloss black is so chic, though, you can't go wrong! Can't wait to see the finished product...
high gloss black will look amazing with those pulls. plus you have the lamps--check another thing off the list.
dying for the dining room reveal as i am in the middle of mine. let me know how the painting goes on the furniture as i want to refinish my dining room table but costs $1300 to do so. thinking painting it high gloss black may be a long process but much cheaper than stripping and refinishing.
I think black with the pull all the way to the right would look amazing! I cant wait to see the finished piece and the rest of your dining room.
I have to say black would get my vote as it just seems more versatile and likely to have more staying power. Coming from another era, I am reminded of my mother's fondness for aqua/turquoise and pink in the 50's/60's. Seems more limiting.
The lamps are great!! I bought a close match in a floor lamp at Homegoods/TJMaxx. Love the style! They do make a statement.
Hope you have a most productive weekend!
it's looking fabulous. Love home goods. I love the look of the turquoise but knowing my neutral self the black would be more reasonable. Can't wait to see what you choose.
Oh fun! Can't wait to see what color you go with. I would love either!
I love the pulls! They are beautiful! Black lacquer would look great with a turquoise lamp! Can't wait to see the finished piece!
Hello. I would go with black if I were you it will look beautiful together with the turquoise lamp. Thank you for the links too, they are very inspiring as I work as a home stager. Wish you a nice weekend and hope you will have fun finishing your project.
All the best,
Sara
