COOL {DOWN}
I would love a pool and all the "beauty" that surrounds them someday....my sister may beat me to it...but that's okay with me! ;)
Which style + setting is your favorite?
I think I may have to go with #1, and #3 as a second home for the bit of chic modernist in me!

O.K. not to be Debby Downer, but pools are totally overrated. We had one in our first house, and everyone LOVED it - everyone but US! It was great that it was a natural gathering place, and people enjoyed coming to our house - we do love that. But the maintenance was never ending, and having people stop by while the kiddos were napping was a bit of a drag. Also, once we joined our summer club, the kids never wanted to swim in our pool anymore - their friends were at the club. So really we paid thousands and and thousands to keep a pool that only other people actually used. The pictures make them look so glamorous, but you never actually relax by a pool when you own it. You start to, and then you see vacuuming and weeding that needs to be done. Oh, and one last thing - pool parties are great, but if you have a pool, ALL parties become pool parties. Even if you are planning a nice, indoor party - everyone assumes it's a pool party. Just saying...

Thanks for the dialogue on the pool..I've never had one, so I wouldn't know..Not many people own pools on the East Coast {near Boston}, I think the beach is too close. With all this heat, the thought of taking a dip in the back yard sounds great, esp. because I can't go to the beach alone with my five month and 2 {almost three} year old..I was sort of dreaming anyways..these pools would all cost a fortune!

I hear you on this. I could absolutely use a dip and cool off....maybe its the 80 degree temp in my house right now.
I like #2 and #5

These are all so gorgeous! That first one would have to be my favourite and I'm saving it for inspiration to get out in my yard and start gardening...amazing! Tracey xx

The first pool is my dream pool. Especially the color. I am from the northeast as well, where pools are less frequent, and I am not so sure of the dynamics behind getting pools to reflect a certain color, but some are just spot on for me. Everything from the tiles around the pool, to the landscaping. I could spend some time there!
