Think Vertically

My life has been a whirlwind this month..for reasons I can't even begin to get into I may be moving within the next year. I actually want to move in next year, to a smaller, cozier home. I will need to refine my belongings, {my kids toys}, and get creative with storage. Thinking vertically is key to using space efficiently. I love how tall bookshelves can house most of your books, magazines, beautiful art and objects. I prefer to mix all of these. Built in books shelves are even better then free standing shelves but if you're living in a temporary space or renting you can still mount free standing tall bookshelves to the wall for the same effect/storage.

My husband and I really need to think vertically, and soon! One of our rooms is filled with stacks of books and magazines, and they're slowly taking over. I think I'll send this post on over to Rob now....get him thinking about a weekend project. Thanks for a great post!

This design of thinking vertically and using bookshelves to accent your rooms is very innovative. I came across your post this afternoon while browsing interior design blogs and the topic of window treatment selection was very interesting to me. Thinking vertically can mean window coverings too. It is true that you must dress your windows appropriately to bring out their true beauty. Thank you for writing and as a special thanks to you and your readers, I would like to offer a 20% off coupon using this code upon checkout: BLG20.

There's nothing better than a well-stocked, chicly-styled bookcase! In my dream house is a full built-in library with a rolling ladder. Some girls dream of shoes, I dream of libraries...

I think I understand your rollercoaster! I moved from what I call an adult house to a much smaller but much cosier appartment and I am oh so much happier! Bottom to ceiling shelves are the way to go and very classy as well. Good luck with all the upcoming changes.

Oh, I hate backorders. Once the decision is made - you just want it. You might check on a product from Dash & Albert. It is a flatwovern rug Diamond Black/Ivory. Actually an indoor outdoor material. A 6x9 is only $288.00. You can order on line or from Knotty Rug Co. knottyrug@yahoo.com

I love our built-in bookshelves and it is nice to see no everyones are perfectly propped or organized, because I know mine aren't!
