thoughts on home and life

So I wanted to update you on my quest for a home, while I get all my ducks lined up and look for the perfect (although) weathered spot I may live in a rental for the winter. I think this will take a bit of the pressure off me and the quickly approaching "move date" of mid-October. God does Tory Burch seem to live a wonderful life.  That's a recent shot of her in Morocco looking at their selection of amazing hand made rugs. I do know I'd love a Beni Ourain style rug. Below are two affordable versions available through West Elm right now.

I also want to include brightly painted shelves in my new home! Image via New England Home Magazine

And finally I love large vintage reproduction globe lighting with brass fittings right now! The lights in the top image (via Elle Decor) are custom, the bottom image is of the restaurant The Dutch in NYC. I hope to visit this spot soon! I'm planning a much needed inspirational trip to the big apple this Fall. Rejuvenation has some similar options to the one's pictured available in a number of different finishes!

I love the first rug you mentioned from West Elm... Really faded and beautiful! Thanks for the tip! Good luck with the house search!

Every time I have a little break it seems that you have a perfect post for me. I wish you the perfect nest to feather.

those lights are awesome! I totally need them in my rental hall- that would be just the thing to spice up my hall!
