BEACHY KEEN..

I love the design details of this home, the tiled wall in the kitchen, the unexpected headboard and bedskirt, and the clean mix of materials in the bathroom. Laid back-luxe.

It was such a pleasure to have a taste of warm weather this weekend in Boston, by March I'm sooooo over the doldrums of winter, skiing is fun but in my world, balmy summer days on the beach are even better! I've also been craving simplicity lately, so hence today's post, a combo of both.. Ocean inspired spaces really SPEAK to me!! Enjoy and happy Monday!

Turquoise and coral accents, one of my favorite color combos..

What's better than dining outdoors?

{excuse my notes}

I SPY..

MORE STRIPES...

If you are a weekly {or daily} reader of my blog, you'll recall last week's post on how I'm spotting stripes everywhere! I came across these graphic photos yesterday in Design New England, this graphic design scheme is clearly Dorothy Draper inspired. {below}

Where I'd like to ...

dine this week..

One of the first things I notice when I enter a room is the quality of natural light. This dining room possess a beautiful casual elegance. I love the contrast of the steel mesh base, wood top and refined black Klismos chairs. The creative quality of the hand printed numbered, linen chair pads adds a hint of whimsy, but it's the gorgeous, oversized doorway overlooking the backyard that really makes this room soar..

THE LONGEST WINTER..of my life..

I don't know if I'm just forgetting last winter or the winter before..etc. but this winter just won't quit, we were buried with another 10" today... I'M IN NEED OF SOME COLOR, QUICKLY!! I love Manuel Canovas fabrics, they're so beautiful.
I was sort of saving this fabric for {who knows what?} I can't part with my favorites...but it just dawned on me today, that it would make fabulous pillows for my living room.. I'm thinking one or two over sized pillows...My dining room is celery, my living room walls are neutral and my office is deep chocolate, it's perfect. DONE!

STILL INSPIRED BY...Moroccan Details

This glamorous shower is clad with Moroccan inspired tiles {I can only dream of having a shower this large someday, the only down side is the water consumption}

I love the feminine details of this Windsor Smith ottoman, {I'm planning to present this to a client next week}

These sculptural lights are available through Mosaik

Designer and Artist Martha Sturdy's outdoor patio

I'm not one to design thematic environments, but drawing inspiration from travel and foreign countries absolutely inspires my work, sometimes a repetitive pattern, motif, color or light fixture is all you need to add cultural interest. Moroccan decor has been "hot" for a while, but I still haven't grown tired of it...

Check out these gorgeous stencils from Royal Design Studio

Arabesque inspired headboards

What an amazing spot for cocktails, no?

Another, interesting ottoman, design by Gary Gibson

This rug beautifully expands on the often seen diamond pattern

I've used these poofs in a project before, very fun.
