but what will she wear???

All political views aside, this is a very exciting day in the history of our country...I promise I'll get back to interior design tomorrow, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk fashion today! Enjoy! WWD printed an article on the endless design possibilities for Michelle's inaugural gown, here are a few of the options....
Peter Som

Oscar de La Renta

Nicole Miller

Herrera

Michael Kors

Marc Jacobs

Diane Von Furstenberg
In my opinion, Jackie O. was, hands down, the best dresser to ever grace The White House. Her designer was typically, Oleg Cassini, here's a sample of some of her fashionable moments.

This look is very of the moment....

This shade of turquoise is so striking...

Inaugural gowns of the past...

Clinton, 1993.

Pat Nixon, 1970.

Ladybird Johnson and her daughters 1961.

Mamie Eisenhower, 1953.

Eleanor Roosevelt, 1941.

Lincoln, 1865.

How's that for a history lesson?

Love all the options for Michelle- how fantastic would it be to have so many designers clamoring to dress you??? :)
And I agree, Jackie O was divine!

JFK was none too shabby, either!! Be interesting to know the ages of these first ladies in the photos. Some look so matronly yet they probably weren't all that old at the time. Funny how fashion evolves over time.
