I find most of my readers are pretty design savvy, so you may have seen these photos in your own publications..but I find I can continually absorb the same amazing rooms again and again! Here are some photos of recent favorites! I'm drawn and often design classically modern spaces, rooms that draw inspiration from the past but incorporate a blend of updated older pieces with a unexpected modern twist speak to me and inform my own work. Lonny Magazine is a breath of fresh air..hopefully they'll come out with a paper version at some point. They are taking contributions on their site, I'm going to donate to this worth while read! A big thank you to Michelle and Patrick and all the contributors for continually wowing us with your amazing publication!

Book of the Month II

I hid away in my office for a while this afternoon, it's nice to actually do some design work again. I also took a few minutes to do some blog hopping. Courtney from Style Court chronicles a wonderful book {My Mother's Clothes} and exhibition by photographer Jeannette Montgomery Barron. My Mother's Clothes is a narrative and photographic look into the life and closet of Jeannette's mother, Eleanor "Ellie" Montgomery.
Montgomery's beautiful images benefit and are available through SCAD, the book is available here.
I'm adding this one to both my library and the "book of the month" list.

excited to hear that Dara Caponigro {formerly the style editor for Domino} is taking over the helm {as editor and chief} of Veranda Magazine! Veranda is a beautiful magazine, but let's be honest it's a bit over the top {rooms are overdone} for my taste. I'm sure Dara will bring it down to earth with her creative talents and forward thinking!

Just a thought!

Picture Perfect - Room of the Week Post is starting again!

I took a little break from posting a featured room of the week but one gorgeous photo can speak volumes..so my favorite room of the week post is back! Word is it's going to reach 80 degrees today in Boston! We'll see as it's still on 55' - I sent my little man off in shorts and a fleece anyways!

Now about this room! It's by the queen of avant garde - Kelly Wearstler. I love everything about this space, the floor design, the sculptural array of furniture, the mirrored ceiling grid, the choice of lighting...I could go on. Kelly never misses a detail, I find her work inspirational, see her newly updated website for more gorgeous shots.

(side note) I recently painted my living room a similar shade of gray as seen in the photo! It took a few days to get used to but I'm loving its luminous quality. It's a beautiful shade with undertones of blue/green. Color : C2 - Dorian Gray.

I guess I've been on a Molly Luetkemeyer kick this week.{two of yesterday's images were from her site} I've long loved her design sense. Here's a peek from this month's InStyle magazine, of Molly sister actress Julie Bowen's chic abode! It's keeping with Molly's usual fabulousness, a fun and modern mix of furniture, color and objects are abound.

Spring Fever!

Every spring I vow to purge and reorganize my home..if I can steal away for a few hours I'd like to start with my closet and move onto to bigger things like toys, books and "kitchen stuff".
