Watermelon

What's better in the summertime? This cheery palette is refreshing all year long! I am having a few friends over later this afternoon! I think I need to make this watermelon limeade recipe from Martha Stewart!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups chopped seedless watermelon (about 6 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, plus 2 tablespoons more, if needed
  • 1/2 cup vodka, (optional)
  • Mint leaves
** Note - I made the watermelon limeade on Friday afternoon. It was very refreshing. Be sure to serve it with lots of ice!! The ice thins it out a little! Enjoy.

W.E. really?

I love this great looking lamp from West Elm! Looks like a one of kind find.

New Product - O'verlays

My clever and creative friend Danika has just launched a new company called O'verlays. Her lightweight, fretwork panels can easily be applied over IKEA's Malm and Rast bureaus. The possibilities don't end there. {see below for a few additional ideas}. Custom sizes are available too, so you can transform just about any piece you wish!!
They are sharing two new pattern next week. A greek key and an overlapping oval. To learn more about her amazing company and a custom order see O'verlay's site!
Here are the available patterns

Woven

I love the details that make up "good"design. I'm currently loving the texture and dimension created when the technique of weaving is exaggerated! And all the braids I've been seeing lately? Love them. I just need to find the time to actually try something like this on my hair.

Happy Wednesday!

Redundant but amazing

I'm sure half of my blog readers also read Lonny {everything looked great, my taste is all over the place} but I can never get enough of a good thing. I had a chance to fly through their newest magazine last night!  They never disappoint. It's no secret that I love Ruthie Sommer's work, so I enjoyed seeing more shots of her gorgeous home. It's a beautifully layered, graphic conglomeration of objects, textiles and furniture. My firm is very busy, which I guess is a good thing. I promise to pick up the blog posts next week.  The above entry is very Dorothy Draper, don't you think???
p.s. I think I need to hire an intern this Fall!!

Could you live with this room??

Room of the week!

I'll keep this short and sweet. It's been a busy, busy week! I love this built in child's room by Christopher Peacock! I can't think of a child who wouldn't love love to live in this room. {the beds may be tricky to make though}! I'm off to Nantucket tomorrow! Be back on Monday. Have a great weekend.

Beach Bungalow

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I'm having trouble focusing on work today. It's especially difficult after spending the weekend on the water south of Boston. It's amazing what a beautiful view and the smell of salt air can do for the soul. This is my favorite time of year. I can only dream of having a little bungalow on the water someday. I don't need a big house,  just one near the ocean. I love this fresh, crisp bungalow featured in Architectural Digest. The white walls, sculptural furniture choices and limited color palette are beautiful, notice all the amazing rug choices! I love each and every one! Happy Summer!! Happy Tuesday! Good luck getting back to work.

Perfect

for me anyway. Remember this post? I'm sure you haven't been losing sleep wondering about my "new" fragrance choice but I thought I'd share it. I purchased Tocca's Colette. It's Tocca's newest scent. It smells fresh, but slightly sweet + spicy. I also love their feminine bottles. My good friend just ran out and bought a bottle herself! I hope they come out with a body cream because the smell does fade over the course of the day!

I think I need

THIS!
honestly, I'd wear it with white jeans or shorts all summer long! I'm into investing in a few amazing pieces a season, instead of spending the same amount of money on a bunch of "so-so things"!

Emerson Made looks so fabulous lately.

Happy 4th! What's not to love?

I love July 4th! {and the 3rd for that matter}. I was lucky enough to grow up on the ocean,  so the July 4th celebration always began with bonfires, cookouts and fireworks on the beach, July 3rd! The 4th has been my favorite holiday since I was in high school! Enjoy! I've decided to hang out in my home town this year!
