Cheers + Happy Birthday

I'm heading out tonight for a much needed girl's night out for my friend Lindsey's Birthday! (Happy B-Day Lindsey). There are 15 of us going to dinner. Sure there will be lots of wine and of course laughs! I'm channeling the look from this photo above. I love her soft make up, textural but casual with an edge vibe!! HAPPY FRIDAY and as always thanks for stopping over - xx Julie

Something for everyone!

FOR THE GLAMOROUS CLASSICIST (lucite)
While designing a custom console table for a client last night, I got to thinking how furniture very much reflects my client's life and personal style. I love not only the function but the diversity of console tables available!  I've included three below and although each client I work with has his or her own unique and special style, I've selected four consoles that fall into four clear categories or defined styles I tend to work with on a daily basis!

FOR THE WARM, ECLECTIC MODERNIST
FOR THE CASUAL TRADITIONALIST
FOR THE NEO-TRADITIONALIST ( TRANSITIONAL STYLE)
WHICH APPEALS TO YOU?

Picture Perfect!

I love designing children's rooms and luckily I often get to do so because so many of my client's are young families with children! I was smitten with designer Pat Healing of Healing-Barsanti's design in this month's House Beautiful! The designer truly "took off" with the palette! Amazing details! (sorry the bottom images are a bit small, I couldn't improve their quality any more!!

currently working on..

I feel extremely fortunate to be working on so many amazing design projects right now! I just presented a powder room design to a client, here's a peek at the Ann Sacks Beau Monde glass tile we're going to use! Gorgeous isn't it??
Happy Friday to you!!

Currently loving = Purple +

It seems counter-intuitive for the season but I'm loving all warm shades of purple and lavender right now. They're rich, and mix with an array of materials, and Fall inspired colors. That silk velvet on the sofa below is just amazing!! I'm also on the hunt for the perfect soft lavender sweater. (so if you've seen one, let me know)

PURPLE + CREAM (PLUS ANYTHING AGATE)
PURPLE + CHOCOLATE
PURPLE + CHARCOAL
PURPLE + BLACK

PURPLE + YELLOW + BLACK

ALL SHADES OF LAVENDER (WHICH IS WHAT I'M CURRENTLY WEARING ON MY TOES!)

I want, I need..

I'm all about the concept of spending my hard earned money on one large, high quality purchase lately. I'd rather buy one fabulous pair of shoes/boots a season then four okay pair! It also cuts down on the clutter in your closet, and you all know how I feel about clutter! The Melissa back zip riding boot is currently on my hit list. Find it here!

As is the excursion quilted jacket by J.Crew. (another Fall staple I may have to splurge on)

A Little Bit Country

If you met me or saw my work one of the last thoughts to come to mind would most likely be country, but there is something about the casual lifestyle of rural living that appeals to me. Since going to Kenny Chesney two weeks ago and the crisp Fall mornings creeping up in New England I've been thinking more about the music genre and this relaxed, worn style. Here's a snapshot of some things I do ADORE about Country Living!
HATS, BOOTS, PRINTED AND FRESH FLORALS, FARMS, AND CLIMBING FENCES
CLEVER MUD ROOMS AND ENTRY WAYS, CHALK BOARD WALLS
BOOTS: ESPECIALLY MUCKING WITH HUNTER WELLIES, COWBOY AND RIDING BOOTS. ALSO VINTAGE ARTWORK ESP. OF HORSES AND FARMS
RUSTIC PINE FARM TABLES AND ANTIQUE RUGS
HATS, HORSES, AND CABLE SWEATERS
ANYTHING FRYE FOR THAT MATTER
WALKS IN THE WOODS and IN FIELDS
LIGHT, AIRY ROOMS
W0RN WOOD, PAINTED WIDE PLANK FLOORS
OLD RED PICKUPS AND HOT COWBOYS
ZINC TABLE TOPS, WALLS OF PLATES, AND HOME COOKING
PINE FLOORS, AND NATURAL FLOWERS

COUNTRY GET AWAYS WITH BUNK ROOMS
ANTLER HOOKS AND LIGHT FIXTURES (BUCK SHED THEIR HORNS NATURALLY)
A SNAP SHOT OF ME (ON THE LEFT) AT THE KENNY CHESNEY CONCERT - GOOD TIMES.

Room (moment) of the week

I'm slightly obsessed with "design details", it's one reason I keep a sketch book by my bed. I never know when a creative idea will strike. I'm sharing this tidbit because I love every detail included. It's a bit of an off beat moment. I also like that everything doesn't match. This corner in a little girl's room somehow feels like it has evolved over time. The light pink chinoiserie wall mural is beautiful. Happy Wednesday. I promise a longer post tomorrow...

Room of the week!

I guess I should re-phrase that to "moment" of the week. I love this dressing table and can only dream of having the time to sit and powder my nose and get ready someday. I'm usually lucky to throw an outfit together while watching my little one tear through my shoes. ;)
