Color Story = Camel, Pink + Grey

I am loving the muted Fall tones of Pink + Camel + Grey, especially with a bit of gold and leopard thrown into the mix.

Consistency is key - Urban Refuge

Small digs? No problem. A tiny space can still look amazing and function well. This adorable condo beautifully proves that point. Let's look at what they did to visually enlarge their place....

1.  Limit your color palette. The use of cream, copper, brown, white and coral is repeated throughout. The punches of color add interest and tie all the rooms together.
2. Varied Texture. They've mixed old and new, shiny + rustic, modern + classical. It helps to warm up this home and prevents the "one stop shopping" look.
3.  They've varied scale. One of the biggest mistakes I see when visiting a client's home are issues with scale. More times then not homes are filled with a bunch of mid-sized things, they are usually the same scale, so the place just looks cluttered. Be sure to keep your eye bouncing around the room. Larger objects in a small space ALWAYS make the space feel bigger, just don't forget to layer in smaller pieces!
4. Create points of interest, the entire space can't scream for attention. I'm loving their unique finds; like the small wooden stool and gorgeous Suzani blanket.
5.  Both vertical and horizontal planes have been considered here!

November - Recommended Reading

I can never resist a beautifully set table. In honor of the upcoming holiday season, I'm recommending Alberto Pinto's Table Settings. His book is packed with inspiring ideas and tips! I would love to start a collection of mixed vintage dishes and glasses..My issue right now is storage! I'll think of something. At the moment, I'm feeling like I need to overhaul my life, get rid of unused "stuff" and refine my belongings. Big, unexpected life changes force you to sort of analyze your life and well being don't they?
Have a great day!

Lamp Love

Finished up a great client presentation on Saturday! A designer's dream is when a client is on board with (almost) everything! The bottom lamp pictured is going to go in the client's foyer, the spicy orange is going to pick up the color again in their living room! Can't wait to finish this one up! I found the lamp on Jamie's site Furbish Studio, just look at the all the adorable lamps she is selling right now..Lamps add so much personality to a space. {sort of like my other obsession - chairs}

This is going in my client's foyer!

Picture Perfect - Room of the week - Happy Halloween

Could I resist a black and orange room this week?  {Salem, MA. is insane right now}. I usually flee the area at this time of year but I have three Halloween parties this weekend! Have a Happy and Safe weekend!

YUM!

I was just scanning my email and ran across my Goop newsletter. In Today's MAKE section Gwyneth shares the details of a cooking collaboration with Ina Garten. I love both Ina and Gwyneth. Ina for her creative cooking and overall approach to design and entertaining and Gwyneth because she's a chic momma in so many ways ..{plus she comes across as a pretty down to earth person}.
They prepared homemade herbed ricotta bruschette from Ina's latest cookbook, How Easy Is That? Easy and delicious? A busy mother of two little one's dream.

Classically Modern Milly

I love the classically modern look of Milly's line. I love her office, those little lucite chairs, the fabric on her settee, her use of color and pattern, her logo, .....all of it really!
Her current Fall Line is fabulous..It's looking very Chanel inspired to me.

This fitted turtle-neck would work so well with my riding boots {see Monday's post}. Seriously, I'd probably wear this once a week.

and her Resort/Spring Line!

{finding the bow a bit distracting right about now}
