Nate Berkus style

I'll be running off in a few to style for a photoshoot, on a beautiful project that I have been working on. I CANNOT wait to share it with you all - but not until I post the gorgeous new home of Nate Berkus, Nate's husband Jeremiah Brent and their adorable daughter, Poppy! It's a glorious 1928 Spanish Colonial style located in L.A. It is, of course, perfectly appointed with a mix of vintage and new furniture. Read and see more of Nate's home here. All images via Architectural Digest.

Although bonkers, I LOVE the week leading up to Christmas. I'm going to try to make it as magical for my children as possible.

Seriously? This entire shot is beyond adorable.
I'll just hang out in here all day!

Love the look - home

Hello, hello friends! Between Easter weekend and my business I've been running non stop. (oh and school vacation!!) I'm excited that I'm blogging today and to share that I've started a new series. As most of you know, I share my fashion favorites and create an outfit based on current inspiration almost weekly. I've decided to add a bi-weekly room post to the "love the look series".  I hope you had a fabulous holiday and if you're local, vacation week!

With summer around the corner and no plans for a vacay anytime soon, I thought I'd day dream and devise a design based on creating a tropical oasis by the pool this summer season. Here are the details on my scheme and finds!! Enjoy. xx

Chaise lounges - LOOK at these! They are nothing short of fabulous! As is this pink umbrella!!
Garden stool - a place to rest your cold drink or cocktail of course. I liked the idea of mixing pale grey with the white chaises and aqua cushions.

This Sunblock (SPF 30) from Beautycounter  is hands-down the best I have tried. I use it under my makeup everyday. It's free of harmful chemicals, goes on smoothly and does not leave any white residue. (that drives me crazy) For a limited time, with your purchase of a full sized tube you'll receive a travel size for free! (perfect for your purse or beach bag)

Melamine plates - This tropical print is beautiful.
Striped cotton pool towel

Pool Days.....

If I ever move from this house, my next home will have a pool! (a girl can dream)

We spent the day yesterday at Matty's parent's pool. Be it a pool or the ocean, there is nothing more refreshing than a dip in the water on a muggy, hot day. Today, is a different story than yesterday.... I am working from home with another child (poor girlie) with the stomach bug!!  I only have ac in the bedroom so I'm taking the opportunity to dream with this post! These images combine what my dream pool would look like. Aerin Lauder's entire property is of course drop dead gorgeous. I would however like some kind od tasteful surround around my "dream" pool. I hope you enjoy this escape as much as I did! Keep cool + always dream! xx

This pool house is perfection!!
I love the idea of boxwoods and comfy furniture around the pool! A blue and white scheme and stripes would also be my choice!
I love a clean lined pool with a simple surround.

Inspired - Marathoners + Aerin Lauder

First off I want to wish a huge good luck to all those running the marathon today. It takes  great skill, ambition and determination to accomplish such a feat!! You are an inspiration.

Secondly, it's finally warming up in Boston!! I'm working a half day today because I'm going to spend the other half with my children. It is school vacation week in Massachusetts.
I've been giving a lot of thought to my yard and sunporch. I've got my computer set up out here today. Enjoying a room with windows on three sides is uplifting, I think I get more accomplished when my work space is filled with natural light and fresh air. I'd love to eventually do this room over.

I've always been inspired by Aerin's style. Although, everything she does is on a much grander scale than I can afford, I still turn to her beautiful properties for inspiration.

Today I wanted to share her pool house and gorgeous backyard. Matty and I dream of having a pool one day! I love the idea of french doors opening out to a beautifully maintained property. (idea #1 for my sun porch redo someday) I have shared indoor and outdoor perspectives.....

SPLASH

It's on days like today, that I love to be by the pool or on the beach! What would I do without the summer? I am so inspired by the color palette in these images. Aqua, teal, mint and turquoise!  (a bit like my blog header, the mint and turquoise at least) Off to work!
Or even better yet, on the Riviera

ANTHROPOLOGIE BATHING SUIT. THIS IS SO PRETTY. I THINK I WOULD NEED A BIT MORE OF A TAN TO PULL IT OFF!
I love this vintage shot and that darling cabana.

I would love a pool and all the "beauty" that surrounds them someday....my sister may beat me to it...but that's okay with me! ;)
Which style + setting is your favorite?
I think I may have to go with #1, and #3 as a second home for the bit of chic modernist in me!
