sneak peek

Between packing for my move (The truck arrives bright and early next Thursday -eek) my little ones and my business I'm running like crazy right now. In fact I'm heading out the door for a meeting right now but before I left I wanted to share a little peek at a wonderful project I just finished up. The clients were an absolute pleasure! Sorry I can't show more of this job, I had it photographed on Monday! You'll see the entire room soon enough! Have a great day, rain and all!

sneak peek - kitchen

I have three great jobs I need to have photographed right now! This being one of them. It's a kitchen design...more to come when the job's been shot! (I'm thinking of investing in a nice camera - do you have a favorite digital, my 35mm was the canon eos rebel)

Cheers!

ps. thanks to my client for sending this photo along.

Sneak Peek - Project

Here's a little sneak peek of a project I'm designing in Boston. This client has been a complete pleasure to work with, she and her husband take risks and have fabulous taste! What's better then that? The cube and chair pictured were custom designs by me and are going to be added to The Shelter furniture collection this Fall! I was thrilled at how they turned out. I'll of course post the final photos of this wonderful home once it's completed!

Sneak Peek - Shelter Project

Hello, hello. It's been a busy week. Sorry for the late posts..I had an install this morning! Installs are always a bit nerve wracking of course because I want everything to turn out perfectly. Here's a peek (I quickly snapped these with my i-phone) at an amazing job I've been working on! These clients are a pleasure. I need to finish the project up with accessories and artwork but we're almost there. A number of the items were custom designed by SHELTER. The rug was a custom size (it's a Kelly Wearstler pattern) as was a number of the furniture pieces (ex: the family room ottoman), the window treatments and of course the pillows! I'm going to have it professionally shot soon and will surely share those photos. (but only after they've been submitted to a publication first!). Happy (almost) Friday! xx.

Lost

I ordered this wonderful, vintage zebra for a client a few weeks ago. He never showed up. He's out there somewhere but never arrived at my client's home. Has anyone seen something similar? It was a one of a kind find and about 15" long x 10" h. Thanks for any information!

score

Sorry for the lack of posts. My life has been insane! My poor little guy broke his collar bone today!
I just purchased this fabulous dresser for a client project! I love so many of the items from C. Bell, and Christine {the owner} is such a pleasure to work with! Promise to return with more posts soon! xx.

Sneak Peek

I still have quite a bit to finish up in Emerson's room but here's a peek at a few things that I have completed.
The light fixture is hung and I've had a couple of pillows made. I'm not sure who made the rose fabric, but it's a classic chintz. The red dot fabric is called La Pluie by Brunschwig and Fils. The bottom image is of the porcelain lattice lamp in her room. I'll of course have shots of her finished room soon. I also painted the walls in Ben Moore's Mellow Pink. It's a beautiful color!

Mamapreneurs - Shelter feature

The very talented Stephanie Piscitelli from Bellini portraits has a great Mamapreneurs series. Today she has featured Shelter, and my kiddies on her blog!

Images:
2. My gallery wall in my downstairs hallway
3. An updated shot of my inspiration board

4. I painted the large number three. It's pretty sentimental considering all that has gone "down" in my life over the past six months!!

Stephanie was an absolute pleasure to work with, I'll be hiring her this summer to take photographs of my children at the beach!! Her work is beautiful!

Emerson's room - design boards

Here is the plan for Emerson's room, the walls are painted and ready to go. I also already have some of the other elements. The concept for her room was the idea of bunnies and deer emerging into a summery garden from the "enchanted forest". Make sense? Good.

1. Scalloped window treatments with a pom-pom detail.
2. Art work via lovemaki.bigcartel {found via this is glamorous}
3. I am going to paint the dresser lemon yellow
4. Light pink paint - ben moore, mellow pink,
 - the charcoal fabric is for the custom designed headboard. It will have a medium pink contrast welt.
 - Kelly Wearstler - in confetti from Lee Jofa on an upholstered chair
5. I purchased this amazing bunny via Etsy from Dimdi. My sister also had an adorable deer painted for Emerson by the same artist.
6. I am going to design a custom headboard similar to this!
7. I purchased these great letter press words. Each type was designed and signed by the artist. {will provide site}. I am going to hang them above the bed, each will have a hot pink mat.
8. + 9. Bunny Pillow via Unica Home, Deer - room's mascot, via HomeGoods. I purchased this when I was pregnant, not knowing if I was having a boy or a girl.
10. Bob Collins yellow lattice will be used for a large bed pillow. {maybe a bolster - not sure yet}
11. Inspiration for an artwall above the crib - It will be a collage of deer and bunny prints by various
artists
12. Palm leaf chandelier. I found one very similar on ebay and had it sprayed last year.
13. I want to add this David Hicks - hexagon wallpaper someplace as an accent.
14. Pink gourd lamp. I also already have a great pierced white lamp.
15. Bedding will be simple and scalloped with a ruffle bed skirt in shades of pink and white.
16. I have a fun fluffy wool shag carpet in the room it's perfect for little, bare feet.

got to run and get my kiddos!!

a little peek

excuse the holes in the ceiling, still haven't found the perfect chandelier for my dining room!
I was happy with my daughter's small birthday celebration on Saturday, thought I'd share a peek at the details {as some of you may remember, i featured my inspiration board last week! I had the bib and invitation custom made through Etsy! Emerson wouldn't touch her cake, I guess she has plenty of time to learn about sweets! If you live in the N.E. hope you're staying warm! I'll never warm up to -20 weather!!

Project - Sneak Peek

I'm finishing up an amazing project right now! It's always great when the client is on board with most of your ideas! When they take risks it works out better for all of us! Here is sneak peek of the job! I can only show you a bit, because I'm told it's not wise not to show all your work if you want to get published with the "big guys". That is why I need to hold off on my home and my little one's nursery too.
Happy Friday. (I'm wondering if it's call "Fri" day because by the end of the week everyone is feeling a bit "fried". ;) )

Double Take..

Yesterday I was flipping through the June issue of Coastal Living when the nursery photo's of swimsuit designer Marysia Reeves baby's room stopped me in my tracks..I couldn't believe how many elements were similar to my son's room that I designed three years ago. You may have seen the shots of my little guy's room featured on La Dolce Vita - May 09'.

- zebra rug, the horizontal stripes, the lamb, the white canvas drapes, the crib design

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not implying anything here, I just thought it was a strange coincidence..I guess great design minds sometimes think alike!

Here are some other photos of Marysia's "surfer chic" {one of my favorite styles} home!

I absolutely love the turquoise interior of these cabinets!

More beach friendly design moments from this month's Coastal Living!

And also a home designed by Sasha Emerson

LOVE designer Sasha Emerson's collection of Madeline Weinrib rugs! Swoon!
